Orpierre is a lovely medieval village located in The buech Valley, 700 m above sea level. It is composed of old narrow streets, of small houses, for exemple the house of the Princes d'Orange, Dutch Princes who lived in Orpierre for many years.

Orpierre is surrounded by numerous paths especially marked out for walks and hikes. We are in an area of medium sized mountains and the numerous summits are situated at an approximate height of 1300 m.
Here and there among woods, forests and flocks of sheep, you will find charming villages set high in the mountains. Mountain bike is also very popular with 380Km of well marked tracks, l'orpierroise the 15/08/2006, rock- climbing for all level :
over than 500 climbing school with hight mountain.
